HO HO Home for the Holidays!

The excitement is building, that familiar chill is in the air, people are smiling & waving, retailers are bustling, peppermint lattes are flowing…the holidays are here! It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Growing up on Bainbridge Island this time of year has always been filled with magical traditions.

I can still remember the excitement felt when the Holiday Fire Truck would go by our home blasting Christmas music. Or when the Christmas Ships would go by our beach house and Santa called out “Merry Christmas Kristen, Rob & Shannon”—because Mom had planned and sent in our names to add to the wonder.

As a Mom, it was thrilling for me to share all the festive island magic with my own kids. Now that they’re grown, coming home for the holidays is such a special treat for them.

Whether your old Island or new, you can enjoy the holiday magic today. There are many community events to attend, quaint boutiques to support and beautiful places to get into the holiday spirit. Here are a few of my favorites. Get out there and enjoy!
